5月22日 Nonsense and other dribbleWell, its been a while since I have had anything to say....I am still not sure if I have anything relevant to say or not...
I need to write a letter to my twitchy eye that has been making me nuts for the last few weeks now. I googled twitchy eye and apparently its either from some strange brain malignancy or fatigue/stress. I am hoping it is just fatigue/stress and not a brain malfunction....not that my brain functions normally to begin with.
On to other news...Wal-Mart has not been too bad here recently...customers do ask a lot of plant questions which they assume since I work in Lawn and Garden that I have the knowledge to answer the question. A lot of times I have to get the big ginormous book of plants we have and look it up for them but as long as your helping them they don't seem to mind.
My lab job is going well...they have put me over at another building where they house mice that are being treated/tested for a possible cure for MS. If you have the stomach for it you can google EAE and click on the link that talks about Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis. If reading about animals in research upsets you or makes you angry then don't read it. The mice require total support and care which takes my whole day caring for them and they are cared for very well and made as comfortable as possible and NEVER allowed to suffer needlessly, they are given so many hours from the onset of the disease to turn around and get better, and if they don't they are humanely euthanized, and I get to work on my own, without a lot of people hovering. The most frustrating thing is the language barrier with some of the Investigators. Their english is rough, and it gets difficult to fully communicate what you want to them. I wind up using a lot of hand gestures and mimic gestures to get my point across....for example: If the mouse's eyes are irritated I point to my eye and and squint or blink and they seem to understand. But how do you explain to someone that their mouse has swollen testicles??

Warning label on a fishing lure. "Dardevle Fishing Lure: Harmful If Swallowed"
I will keep that in mind while I am fishing....
